Today’s male model in the spotlight is Jurian van Os, model at Alpha Male Model Management. He is a 17 year old student, living in Tiel, The Netherlands. About 6 months ago Jurian got a message at Instagram from Yannick Kranstauber, owner of Alpha Male Model Management. He invited Jurian for an intake and testshoot. Probably Yannick was just as enthousiastic about Jurian’s unique look as we are, because about a week after that meeting, Jurian was represented by Alpha Male Model Management! Spotted Style meets Keven de Koning from De Boekers!

 malemodel

Yesterday we promised you seven male models and today we start with Keven de Koning! We had the privilege to be the first one who interviewed him! He is 18 years old, modelling for De Boekers and 2morrow! Studying Interactive Designer in Amsterdam, born in Dordrecht and living in Lelystad. Do you want to know more about Keven? Read the full interview!

Introduce yourself with a few words? Who are you?
I’m Keven and I’m 18 years old. I play soccer and I work hard for my study. People think I’m funny and that I’m a good person.

What are you hobbies and biggest passions?
My hobbies are drawing, playing soccer and being with my friends. My biggest passion is fitness. I workout a lot and I hope to get big enough to do shoots for Calvin Klein. But I think that will take a while.

When and how you started your modelling career? Were you scouted by somebody?
I won a model contest on Facebook and the photographer of that shoot, told me that I had a good face to be model. And a lot of other people said stuff like that too. So one day I send some pictures to one agency, but they didn’t respond. A few weeks later I send some pictures to De Boekers and they were really excited to meet me. So that’s how I started modelling.

Did modelling influence or change your life? If yes, how?
Modelling didn’t really change anything in my life. The only thing that did change was that I got more attention from girls because I am a model.

What is fashion for you? How would you describe your personal style? Where do you pull your inspiration from?
Fashion isn’t really that important to me. I just wear the clothes I like to wear.

Do you get to travel a lot for your work? If so what’s your favourite city that you have visited? Do you have a dream destination?
I don’t travel a lot for work. I have an agency in Milan and they want me to go there for a month or so. But I just can’t because of school. So I hope to get a lot of work here, in The Netherlands.

”Make Fashion Not War” – Chanel, Paris Fashion Week

chanel

Karl Lagerfeld surprised us one more time with the last Chanel’s catwalk show in Paris. The head designer and creative director of fashion house Chanel sent famous models Cara Delevingne, Gisele Bundchen and Georgia-May Jagger down the runway, which was transformed into a Paris boulevard. With signs and megaphones in their hands they supported women rights, inspired by Emma Watson’s campaign He for She. A Dutch face was spotted during the runaway fashion show Maartje Verhoef!

The protest began quietly and the whole collection was shown peaceful, without propaganda. At the end of the show top models came out with big signs.  Some of the messages that the models were carrying with them were saying: ” Women’s rights are more then allright”, “Ladies First”, “Make Fashion not War” and “Divorce pour tout.”

The collection is rich, with a big variety of tones. It shows that Chanel women are free spirited and daring. They are independent, feminine and masculine and do not care about social norms. Wearing Chanel gives you an image of Gabrielle Chanel. You’ll walk the streets with confidence and proudly. Some of the clothes of the collection are inspired on menswear with double-breasted blazers and boxy jackets, cuffed wide-leg trousers and flat boots, remaining feminine with a big palette of colors – pink, orange, purple, green and blue. Some of the clutches had a special message for freedom: “Féministe mais Féminine” and “Make Fashion not War.” A new bag-jacket made it’s first appearance with soft leather handles that allow to be worn over the shoulder or tied around the waist.

SPOTTED STYLE joins in the support of He for She!
