The last day of Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam was characterised by a versatility of shows.Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam closed spectacularly by the Elite Model Look presents Future Generation, where seven upcoming designers presented their collections on the catwalk. Elite model look sponsored the show this edition.

Future Generation started with two catwalk shows of the talented Jazz Kuipers and Jeff Montes. Spotted Style watched the show and spotted some of the Elite Amsterdam boys! This time we have Ziggy Janssen and Jim van Hooff in the spotlight! The two boys walked the show wearing the designs of Jazz Kuiper. Jazz  graduated cum laude from AMFI and refined her vision of the architectural masculine silhouette over the years, which successfully resulted in her first AW15 ready-to -wear collection ‘ONE’ and her second SS16 collection ‘TWO ‘, which she will show at the catwalk show.

One of the shows that we will definitely remember and turn back to from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam is the fashion show of Alexandra Frida! On 13th of July Spotted Style was invited at Transformatorhuis to see the new collection of the talented designer Alexandra. When the first model appeared on the catwalk wearing a beautiful dress in gold with a feminine silhouette, we already knew Alexandra’s new collection will take a special place in our fashion hearts. The beautiful models were looking like a gorgeous dolls in Alexandra’s new designs. We saw a lot of colours and loved the pastel pink, gold and turquoise blue. Alexandra’s pieces of clothing are very special and for sure a must have in our Spotted Style Spring/Summer 16 wardrobe! One of our spotted models Romana Meijer were walking the show! Milou Koster, Britt van Voskuijlen and Esmee Wijnen from Elite Amsterdam were spotted at the catwalk too! PHOTOGRAPHER

Alexandra’s life story is coloured by two important influences: her Grandmother and the planet. Alexandra was born as Alexandra Vollebregt in the Netherlands in 1985. Her creative journey begins at a young age with the  loving encouragement of her Grandmother to explore her creativity. It was in the safe haven of her Grandmother’s house where Alexandra found herself immersed in her own creations. These formed the first steps into creating ALEXANDRA FRIDA.

Maria Cle Leal is a rising fashion star in her hometown of Madrid, and now she’s also making a splash in Amsterdam. Guests in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week tent yesterday celebrated María Clè Leal’s first show in the Netherlands, praising her brilliant offering on the last day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. Spotted Style was one of them! Silke Hajunga from Future Faces opened the show and Felice Fleur form Elite Amsterdam closed it, wearing a beautiful dress! Other spotted models were  Sabien Reintjes, Nadine Ammeraal, Milou Koster and  Anniek Abma.

Doutzen Kroes was spotted arriving at Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam

For her Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, Fragile, María Clè Leal presented a delicate, ephemeral and feminine collection. Focussing on the silhouette of the dress and the skirt, it played heavily with volume and proportion.  The colour palatte was almost entirely black, nude and fuchsia. Taking as her inspiration the petals of a flower, María used fabrics such as boiled wool to create large and yet flattering structures that enveloped the model’s forms.  It was minimalism meets maximalism at its best, a clear example of the influence of art on María’s designs. The collection was lauded by the guests, including Holland’s own supermodel and face of Mercedes-Benz Spring/Summer 2016 Doutzen Kroes and her DJ husband Sunnery James amongst many others.

María Clè Leal was invited to show as the guest of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam as part of the Mercedes-Benz Designer Exchange Program, a platform to showcase and support up-and-coming talent across international borders. Offering targeted support to highly talented young fashion designers is the stated aim of Mercedes-Benz. Maria: “I am very grateful to Mercedes-Benz for this opportunity – it’s a great showcase to display my work.”

Monique Collignon Light Couture met everyone’s expectations: Elegant and striking pieces dominated the catwalk. The last show of the 10th day of the Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam turned out to be truly breathtaking. We had the pleasure to see the work of Monique Collignon for a second time this Fashion Week! This time it was the turn of the Light Couture collection spring / summer 2016 with the message “Dress it up, dress it down.”

In this Couture Light (ready-to-wear) collection, which will be in the stores from mid-December we can see the four elements: earth, water, fire and air, in combination with plastic waste. Seventy percent of  the clothes are being made from Waste2Wear materials and the rest from fabrics such as silk and lace which are also eco-friendly and responsibly produced. Collignon wants to raise attention to the (plastic) waste problem. This Light Couture line consists mainly of dresses for all occasions and ages. The collection is recognizable by the specially designed ‘The Conscious Collection “label and will be sold through Röling Import. For Spotted Style it was a pleasure to see the show and we really enjoyed it! (more…)

Brand new brand!
After many fantastic seasons of unparalleled success, Arrey has decided to change the Arrey Kono brand name to Arrey and take the brand to the next level. The renewed brand kicks of this year by taking the original elements of plisse fashion combined with a world class production, the hottest up-and-coming designs, and an exclusive slice of Berlin’s fashion scene.

Inspiration for The Middle collection comes from the inside. Arrey spent a lot of years to find her middle. She didn’t find it in a place where most people would find it; she found it in between extremes, which were seen in her previous collections sober and avant-garde. Arrey’s previous collections have always been an inspiration from the outside, this collection comes from the inside, from her middle.

”It’s not just about the moment it is beyond the moment. It is The Middle.”

The Middle. Harmony and peace.
The fabrics are soft anf flowing, with shapes and movements like the ocean. In this collection we find the perfect balance between darkness and lightheartedness that’s almost nostalgic. Her new collection The Milddle symbolizes harmony and peace, which can be seen in her designs. The fluent lines bring forth that she has now find her own middle and hopes to inspire the woman who wears their collection to find their middle.
