Hi, dear Bruna! Can you introduce yourself to our Spotted Style followers?
My name is Bruna Rizk, I am 22 years old and currently living in Amsterdam. I am a booker at VDM Model Management.
We already spotted some of the beautiful faces of VDM Model Management, can you tell us more about the agency?
VDM Model Mangement is founded by our director Jeroen van de Mast. VDM represents, develops and preps models for the national and international market. We distinguish ourselves from other agencies through our close and personal guidance. Other than that we value a fit and healthy lifestyle.
Since when do you work as a booker for VDM Model Management and have you ever imagined yourself as part of the modeling industry?
Not that long actually, I started last summer. I’ve always wanted to work in the modeling industry, so I’m really grateful to be able to do what I love.
How do you decide whether a young girl has potential and is the right one for VDM? Through what kind of stages of development the girl goes until she is ready to be a full time model? What kind of guidance and support do you give to your models?
The industry changes so often that it is hard to pinpoint what makes someone so special, it’s a matter of: “you just know”. VDM values models who not only have the looks but also have a nice personality and the drive to work hard. We want our models to graduate from school before becoming full-time, in the mean time we will build up their portfolios and wait for the right moment to launch them into the international market. Managing models, starting off with baby steps and seeing them become successful is the most exciting part of the job.
Tell us more about the challenges that you face in your daily work as a booker and what do you love most about your profession?
Everyday has a new challenge to tackle and that’s what makes it a diverse workplace. One day I could be supporting our models for Fashion Week in Milan/Paris/London/New York and the next day I could be organizing a workshop. But what I adore most is getting our models booked for jobs, it’s very rewarding, especially when it is a new client. It takes a lot of effort but in the end it is all worth it!
As a big agency as yours, VDM Model Management has an extensive network of international clients, can you mention some of them?
This varies from commercial to high-fashion clients, for example: ASOS and Calvin Klein.
Do you have a favorite top model and whom do we have to keep an eye on over the next seasons from the VDM Models?
I don’t have a favorite to be honest. And I wish I could tell you but I don’t want to spill the beans on who you will see grow over the next seasons.
