Happy Monday, Spotted Stylers! After your big interest in the blogs of Evie and Fabienne from Models Love Food, we have a little surprise for you today! Evie Lukassen from Future Faces Model Management is back in our spotlight! This time not to give us delicious recipes for healthy models food, but to share her own story. Are you ready for it? Evie is 18 years old, born and living in Gendringen, The Netherlands and is in her last year of highschool. Luckily, we had the chance to interview her before her finals, which we are sure she did great, having in mind her talented personality. Horse riding, writing, cooking and modelling are part of the list with Evie’s favorite activities. Besides eating healthy, Evie is practicing pilates, yoga and tai chi and the sports help her stay in perfect shape. And as you may guess, we spotted a true fashion lover in Evie! She loves shopping and if you ever spot her, she probably would be wearing her boyfriends jeans, leather jacket, having the chic model look! If you really miss Evie, don’t forget to follow her and Fabienne on their Instagram Models Love Food!
This year Elite Model Management started with a new and fresh beginning. It all began with the take-over of Fresh Model Management. After a smooth transition, the Elite office at the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam remains the main office. However, the new directors of Elite, Mauro and Suzanne, decided to keep both offices on and came up with a new and innovative idea. The old Fresh Model Management office in Hoofddorp has been totally transformed into what we call ‘The Elite Model Home’.
The Elite Model home is a unique place where models represented by Elite Amsterdam can work intensively on their development. A team consisting of a personal trainer, nutritionist, psychologist, mental coach, catwalk trainer and other professionals in the field work together with the models. Models who stay in the Elite Model Home are there to reach their personal goals. Most girls who stay in the home need to work on their measurements, increase their stamina and gain more confidence. They need to learn how to deal with homesickness or other issues that get in their way of becoming a successful international model. Only a short time after opening the Elite Model Home in Hoofddorp, it has already proven to be a successful project. The girls see real improvement soon after they begin and this keeps their spirits high!
Le Marais is definitely one of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris. It gives you the feeling of a medieval Paris, with small crooked lanes that are filled with bars, lunchrooms, restaurants, boutiques, designers and art galleries. You will find both traditional bakeries, wine shops and vintage shops mixed with trendy concept stores and hip designer places situated in beautiful old buildings. In the prior ‘Paris Insider’ post I came up with a list of nice places, stores and restaurants to visit in the city. However, there is so much more to do in Paris and Le Marais is one of the areas that I wanted to share more of!

This street is the center of the Jewish quarter. Here was once the largest Jewish community in Europe, before the tragic events happened in WWII. Now this cosy street is packed with bakeries, restaurants, boutiques, old hammams and ‘Traiteurs Yiddish’ where you can eat the best falafel sandwiches you’ll ever have!
L E L O I R D A N S L A T H É I È R E A teahouse serving a delicious assortment of homemade pies and cakes. Inspired by the Mad Hatter’s tea party in Alice In Wonderland, this tea/lunchroom is decorated with vintage furniture, hundreds of posters and a lot of old wood. Sit down in one the comfortable leather couches and try the famous lemon meringue pie! (Address: 3 Rue des Rosiers) (more…)
If you have a love for chocolate and live in (or near) Amsterdam, then this beautiful chocolate shop should not be missed! ArtiChoc stands for “arty chocolate” and amusingly a vegetable name at the same time! ArtiChoc was founded seventeen years ago by a wonderful couple: Judith and Menno Koerts Meijer. For many years they lived above a beautiful flower shop, which they had to enter to reach the apartment. When the owner of the shop had to quit her business, it meant that they had to leave the apartment too. But because of this happening, it gave them the idea to rent the shop themselves and start their own business!
But why chocolate? Menno previously worked as a chocolatier where he enjoyed years of creating arty chocolates. However, creativity slowly faded as the company became bigger and eventually was taken over. Judith had years of experience as a saleswoman. With their own chocolate store they could have the freedom to use their creativity and exactly choose what ingredients to use or how the store and products would look like!
Yesterday we had new models in the spotlight and their names are Snoopy and Belle! It did not take long until we went back to one of our favorite spots in Amsterdam. Gallery 5&33 at art’otel opened its doors yesterday to reveal the beauty of the travelling exhibition ‘Snoopy and Belle in Fashion’. Our editor in chief Nadina Gorano was warmly welcomed at the entrance of the modern gallery, by the lovely Manon van der Brand, Sr.PR Manager of Maison PR. The gallery was transformed into a real fashion paradise, full of mini Snoopy and Belle models and each of them was wearing a different outfit from world famous designers and fashion houses. The outfits were with a special attention to the detail and each of them was a real piece of art.
The event was classy, stylish and full of glamour. We were happy to spot some familiar faces from the fashion world at the opening. Our friend and spotted model Joyce Bakker was one of them. We enjoyed the looks of the fashionably dressed vinyl dolls, having a glass Moët et Chandon champagne and delicious bites. Choosing our favorite couple of dolls was difficult, taking in mind the great work of each designer, so we had to make few rounds until we pick our winner. Spotted Style’s top choice was Edwin Oudshoorn’s glamorous look of Snoopy and Belle.
The Dutch designer attended the official opening of the fashion exhibition and signed the stand where his dolls are placed. Edwin’s romantic designs of the suit and the dress of Snoopy and Belle got our attention. The rest of the outfits were created by Anna Sui, Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, Oscar De La Renta, Giorgio Armani, Hermés, Betsey Johnson, Bibhu Mohapatra, Calvin Klein Collection, Christian Siriano, Costello Tagliapietra, DKNY, Diane Von Furstenberg, Dsquared2, Dries Van Noten, Emanuel Ungaro, Isaac Mizrahi, Isabel Marant, J. Mendel, Kenneth Cole, Lisa Perry, MAC Cosmetics, Opening Ceremony, Philip Treacy, Rodarte, Royal Asscher, Swarovski, Tracy Reese, VPL by Victoria Bartlett, and Zac Posen. If you are familiar with the work of the brands, you could spot easily which outfits are designed by the certain fashion house.
Snoopy and Belle definitely have style and if you are seeking for a new inspiration, the right place to find it is at the gallery 5&33, art’otel! Snoopy and Belle will be in town and you can meet them until 23rd of June at Gallery 5&33 in Amsterdam!
Special thanks to Maison PR for sharing the fashion magic of ‘Snoopy and Belle’ with us!
I love the feeling of holding the new issue of VOGUE and the smell of the freshly printed magazine! The June issue comes with a black VOGUE T-shirt from organic cotton, which I totally love so if you haven’t got it yet, hurry up and head to the closest store when you can get your black tee! The Fashion bible is in my hands and the first thing that spot is Julia Bergshoef from Ulla Models on the cover. A month ago, Julia was on the VOGUE April’s cover with top models Maartje Verhoef from Micha Models and Ine Neefs from Dominique Models Agency.
Discovered at age of 15, the Dutch top model shares in an interview for Models.com that she never thought of becoming a model before she was scouted. Walked her first fashion show for Prada and been booked by big fashion brands as Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Chanel, Sacai, Givenchy, Celine, Nina Ricci, Mugler, Isabel Marant, Dior, Lanvin and many others, Julia’s work stands out in between the pages and shines on the cover of VOGUE NL this month!
Tonight Spotted Style will visit the official opening of ‘Snoopy and Belle in Fashion” in Gallery 5&33! The beautiful exhibition came in town today and opens tonight in 5&33 Gallery, art’otel Amsterdam. There we can see the unique dolls Snoopy and his sister wearing top designers pieces of art. Together with the special trendy vinyl dolls we will celebrate the 30-year rich history of Peanuts and fashion.

Le Palais Bulles: A utopian project that encompasses earth, sky and sea, where the future is built organically from the forms and architecture of the past. In this Collection Croisiére, Raf Simons, Artistic Director of Christian Dior, looks to the landscape and memory of the South of France. Gaining inspiration from the colours, textures and light of the natural world of the Cote d’Azur, together with the style of the people who have inhabited it, the designer draws on tradition and technique to realise clothing for today. In so doing, Le Palais Bulles (Bubble Palace) becomes a metaphor for the approach to the collection overall.
I wanted an idea of freedom, playfulness and individuality to come to the fore in this collection, especially in consideration of the Dior archive,” explains Raf Simons. “It is not a heavy concept; it is light and young and there is a literal lightening of this clothing to make it fresh. Much of the design architecture comes from Mr Dior’s manteaux, his coats. But the heavy fabric is stripped away, the scale is played with and elements of their style are ‘collaged’ into other forms and garments.”
Some of the spotted girls from OMG Model Management are still in Milan, but before Nina Storm van Leeuwen headed to the Italian fashion capital, we met her for an interview! The 16 years old stunning brunette lives in Utrecht and last year she went to The Model Convention, where she met our friends Zia and Vincent, the owners of OMG Model Management. After many callbacks from different agencies, Nina chose to sign with OMG Model Management. Now she is in her 5th year of high school, so one more to go. We are very curious which way she will take after she finishes her education but taking in mind her hard working personality and determination, we are sure that it will be in direction to the top! Read more about Nina’s lifestyle and follow her on Spotted Style for more news!

At the start of April, it was again time to pack my suitcase and head to London! As always, I had way too many clothes packed, resulting in an unpleasant workout of lifting overweight luggage… I have often travelled to London for work before, so I was looking forward to it! In the first couple of weeks I have been moving between air bnb places and host families, trying to find a proper place, which currently is a bright pink English house with a lot of scary interior decoration… Luckily, the host himself is very friendly and funny.(more…)
