Describe yourself with a few words:

Caring, funny and creative.

What are you hobbies and biggest passions?
I don’t have a hobby, but things I enjoy most are: cycling to the beach, spending time with my family, watching GOOD movies, listening to the good music (songs before the year 2000), and going to museums or art galleries. My passion is photography. If I’m not making any pictures I’m searching the internet for inspirational photographs.

When and how you started your modelling career? Were you scouted by somebody?
I started when I was 17, but I was scouted before a couple of times. I remember the first time I was scouted. I was 13 and my family and I were having lunch in Amsterdam and when we finished a guy came to me asking if I was a model or if I ever thought of modelling. I was shocked! Me? Really? He talked to my dad and then left his card. I didn’t know what to think but I felt flattered. I went to the agency who scouted me but I decided I did not want to become a model.

Did modelling influence or change your life? If yes, how?

Modelling completely changed my life. Before my ‘modelling career’ I was an very insecure girl with no passions or activities. I wasn’t reading any real books, I listened to the top 40 music and I did not have my own style. That may sounds very negative, but I was in a negative place at that time. When I started modelling, I started developing myself. I met people with passions and stories and I got so inspired. I discovered what I like, what my interest are and I grew a lot mentally. I got so much stronger, physically and mentally and I started to get comfortable with myself. Also I started caring for my body, and I’m still learning about what my body needs and wants. I’m so thankful for this change that came with the modelling!

Are you doing catwalks?
I did some catwalk shows in Holland, during Amsterdam Fashion Week. I haven’t done any (big) shows abroad yet but I really hope to do some someday (Prada for example…). But only when I’m ready.

What are the biggest campaigns/brands you have done and worked for?
The biggest campaign I shot for was for Costes and last summer I worked for Issey Miyake. I have to be honest, I didn’t know how big the brand was till after we finished the shoot.

Have you dreamed to be a model?
I never dreamt about being a model. I did want to give up my unhealthy lifestyle. But after I got scouted for the 3th time, I started think about it and it did excited me, so I gave it a try. I’m so glad I did.

One thing that you love most about modelling?
The thing I love the most about modelling is the fact that I get to work with extremely talented and passionate people! They inspire me a lot. And it makes me truly happy to see these people work. Including the other models!

What is fashion for you? How would you describe your own style?
Fashion for me is using clothes to translate your personality. I love love LOVE denim jeans with my dr. martens and a big simple sweater during winter times. In summer I look like a girl who went shopping in a different decade.

What is your musthave for the season?
The winter season to me means buying a lot of crèmes. My skin dies during winter times so I’m always making sure I got my survival kit with me.

Fashion/ beauty icon that you admire?
My fashion icon is Twiggy. With no other reason than her mesmerizing face.

What makes you laugh and what makes you happy?
I make myself laugh! Ha I can be such a dork, I can really laugh about myself for hours. But my best friend does a pretty good job herself too. I try to get happiness out of the little things in life. Good weather, a good song on the radio or seeing that my family, friends or just random strangers are happy.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
Where don’t I get it?! You can get inspiration from everything, as long as you have an open mind.

How do you see Life through your eyes?
I see life as something magical. I don’t expect anything, I’m living day by day and I try to enjoy it as much as I can. To me it seems that people are in a rush all-the-time and they can’t see that you’re free to do what you heart tells you to do. Of course in some parts of the world they don’t have that freedom. But I mean in Holland most of them do.

The things that are worth fighting for are?

The thing worth fighting for is the relationship with my family and friends. Also things you, and only you, really want to accomplish.

3songs from your playlist
The three songs on my playlist who I listen most to right now are:
Could It Be Another Change by The Samples, Bad Medicine- Bon Jovi and Highway to Hell by AC/DC.

5facts that we don’t know about you?
Sometimes I sleep in with jungle or ocean sounds so I won’t overthink myself, none of my close friends call me Kee, I have a stuffed animal I CAN NOT sleep without, I make a lot of very ugly selfies for fun (a friend of mine collects them), sometimes I think I was born in the wrong decade.

How do you imagine the future, what does it hold for you?
First of all I hope to develop my passion for photography in the future. Mabye I’ll go to college in September, but before September I want to learn French, get my license and enjoy my summer which I’ll spend in Croatia and Budapest. I want to get the most out of every day and I’m trying to increase my general knowledge. Oh and maybe meet a nice guy, that’d be great.

If you could tell something to the whole world what it would be?
DON’T LOOK ON YOUR PHONE ALL THE TIME. You’re missing out big time.
