Today’s male model in the spotlight is Jurian van Os, model at Alpha Male Model Management. He is a 17 year old student, living in Tiel, The Netherlands. About 6 months ago Jurian got a message at Instagram from Yannick Kranstauber, owner of Alpha Male Model Management. He invited Jurian for an intake and testshoot. Probably Yannick was just as enthousiastic about Jurian’s unique look as we are, because about a week after that meeting, Jurian was represented by Alpha Male Model Management! Describe yourself with a few words:
Honest, cozy, funny, reliable and goal oriented. If I start something new I just want give my best en bring out the best part of me.
What are you hobbies and biggest passions?
I don’t have really a hobby. I’m studying in Amsterdam to become an interior advisor. We do a lot of creative things there and I like to be that creative. Besides that I like to chill with my friends.
Did modelling influence or change your life? If yes, how?
Yeah! It is important to live healthy and to take care of yourself. Since I started as a model I take that more seriously and try to eat as healthy as possible, get enough sleep and take care of my skin.
Are you walking fashion shows?
Last January I walked my first fashion show. It was for Camiel Fortgens at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam and I closed the show. I was enjoying my time backstage and had some fun with the whole team, models and the designer Camiel,. Minutes before the show my nerves were on point, but after hitting the lights on the runway they went away. It was a great experience!
What do you love most about modelling?
Working with all these different people that form the crew behind the scenes. Personally I think the key to deliver great work is that it’s not just the model, but the entire team that works together at a shoot. Everyone behind the scenes, from my agent to the people of hair and make-up, the stylist or designer and the photographer of course, we do it together!
What is fashion for you? How would you describe your own style?
I see fashion as a way to show who you are as a person. My style, pfft, that’s hard to describe. I think a mix between tough, clean and fresh. I don’t really think about it, haha.
What was your favourite shoot so far, why?
In January I did a shoot with Alexander van Keulen on a rooftop in Amsterdam. It was cold, but the sun was shining too. The end result was awesome. For me that was my favourite shoot so far.
A fact about you that we don’t know?
You can wake me up anytime for a fresh Dutch ‘stroopwafel’. It is not that healthy, but it is my favourite kind of cookie (hmm!).
What makes you happy?
My friends and family make me happy. If I’m surrounded by them, I can always have a good laugh or a good talk.
Who is your favourite model?
Doutzen Kroes for sure!
Something worth fighting for is…
Fashion Week abroad, especially Paris. At this point I still have to grow a bit, so I have to work a little harder for everything than other models, but I think it will be worth it in the end. Further, things that make you happy are always worth fighting for.
What does the future hold for you?
I’ve only been modelling for a few months now, but hopefully I can get further in the industry. It would be cool to walk more fashion shows. After my first Fashion Week it has left me thirsty for more! There are agencies in Paris and Milan that expressed interest in me for the future and it would be great if I could do an assignment abroad. But for now, I just let what the future brings surprise me!
