iNDiViDUALS! We can call them trend setters, creatives, rising stars, talents and also our new biggest inspiration! The 24 students of AMFI8 Designers, 8 Managers and 8 Branders left us speechless after the fashion show at INIT, Amsterdam! The Dutch fashion brand, initiated by AMFI- Amsterdam Fashion Institute (in 2006) presented its new A/W 15-16 collection. The brand is a platform for fashion creativity, managed by third and forth year students, allowing them to experience the demand of the fashion industry. It provides them an unmatched experience which can be transferred to the workforce post-graduation.
Aiming to achieve the balance between being creative and commercially appealing, the team of iNDiViDUALS definitely achieved their goal successfully! We love the collection and as you may guess, we cannot wait to see it at the points of sale, so we can add some of the pieces to our Spotted Style wardrobe! It was a big pleasure to watch the fashion show and discover the new seasonal fabrics, colors and silhouettes of the A/W 15-16 collection from the front row. Cocoon Coat, Bulky Bomber, Tranquil Trousers, Snug Skirt, Blasée Blouse, Defiant Dress, Serene Sweater, Cosy Cardigan,Trouble-free Tee make the sales collection supported by UNiTY, the line and unisex carry-over styles.
Embracing the comfortable nonchalance of a Sunday morning, the collection aims to slowly relieve the wearer from social pressure. ‘We feel fully at ease and mold our own path, carefree of any judgment. We let go of chasing expectations, be it from following beauty ideals to climbing up the career ladder, and are confident in finding our own way. Accepting who we are, we don’t feel the need to impress, questioning whether the predefined path really is our only choice.’

While enjoying the catwalk show, we had a close look at the exquisite fabrics of the collection. Sensory fabrics trigger to touch and immerse the wearer into comfort. Brushed wools are complimented by sanded silks for soft contrasting. High density knits and felted fabrics create bulky yet organic shapes, embracing the wearer’s freedom in movement.
One of our favorite pieces of the collection is the Untroubled Coat which is inspired by a blanket and finished with a fine mattress stitch and inspired by the idea to just wrap your blanket around your waist and go. In this look, the Out-Of-Bed Skirt is styled with the Comfy Jumper, which features extended sleeves and a moldable neckline. The Mustard Yellow pieces also caught our fashion eye and the Placid Trousers made from Double Knit complete this comfy kind of uniform!
We were pleasantly surprised to spot some of our favorite girls from Elite Amsterdam and Micha Models! Sanne S., Marleen M, Nena Britt V. V., Mara, Daphne, Laura, Modeste, Femke, Floortje, Bryana, Romanna and Sterre from Elite Amsterdam walked the show and they were more than gorgeous! We spotted the beautiful Lois Schalkwijk, Alicia van Schouten and Merel van Mierlo from Micha models and the models from Alpha Male Model Management! One of our spotted friends, the talented make- up artist Felicia Williams took care of the make up and did a great job backstage!
The creative team of iNDiViDUALS amazed us with their talent, hard work, different-thinking, new collection and great organization! The thought-through combination of location, music, lights, models and the team’s hard work made the show a huge success! For the team of Spotted Style it was a great pleasure to watch the fashion show and be there to spot iNDiViDUALS’ great performance and deserved success!
Applause for iNDiViDUALS!
