Introduce yourself with a few words? Who are you?
My name is Roel Klepper and i’m 24 years old. I’m a busy guy who’s always searching for the best. I’m very critical about myself and I want to reach the top in everything that I do. Start playing soccer? Become a pro and try to be the best. Start a modelling career? Fly around the world and do your best to get the nicest jobs.

What are you hobbies and biggest passions?
A few years ago I would have say: playing soccer. Today’s answer: hanging out with my two best friends and travel the world with them. Crazy places, new places and especially places where we talked about when we were 16 or 17 years old. The more hours we spend in the airplane, the greater the experience!

When and how you started your modelling career? Were you scouted by somebody?
About three years ago my little sister (she’s 20 years old right now) started her study in photography. She wanted to take pictures of me so she could use them for a school assignment. I didn’t have any pictures at all and I was a single guy, so I co-operated. Three days later my sister posted the pictures on Facebook. A few days later I received a private message from a model scout. She asked me if I had any experience, or perhaps I was interested. I met the model scout, she took my measurements, I had one test photoshoot and two weeks later I did 4 catwalk shows in Germany amongst models with years of experience. After I came back in The Netherlands the assignments kept coming. One year later I flew to Milan and I signed a two year contract at Major Model Management – Milano. Thanks to my little sister.

Did modelling influence or change your life? If yes, how?
For me it did, yes. I started to look different at marketing and the way you can use and look at pictures. I finished my bachelor of business administration and marketing management. I immediately had a goal. I knew I wanted to combine business administration, marketing and modelling. That’s how I became booker at modelling agency Showpony Productions in Amsterdam. Of course you need some luck. I was lucky that I met the right people at the right moment.

What is fashion for you? How would you describe your personal style? Where do you pull your inspiration from?
Three years ago I just wanted to look good so girls would like me. I ended up with clothes that did not suit me and to be honest: did not look very well on me. I am older now and have worked for almost three years in the modelling and fashion business. I have seen more and I met more ‘fashionable’ people. Today I’d like to wear good jeans (not the cheapest ones) and a black leather jacket. I love to wear Clarks and All Stars. Between Clarks and All Stars I like to wear my Nike sneakers. The colours I like the most are black, navy blue, grey and white.

Do you get to travel a lot for your work? If so what’s your favourite city that you have visited? Do you have a dream destination?
So far, I went to Milan (Italy) a few times, did shoots and shows in Marrakech (Morocco), Dusseldorf (Germany), Antwerpen & Brussels (Belgium) and Paris (France). My favourite place I have been in my life is Key West – Florida, USA (holiday). My dream destination for work would be Tokyo, Japan. I think it’s very hard in the beginning because of the cultural differences and the language barrier but finally a great experience in a whole different world.

Give us 5 facts about you people may not know.
I am crazy about airplanes. I like fly with them but also to look at them and get to know more information about them. Besides airplanes, I’m a terrible guy in the kitchen.

What are your top priorities? What keeps you going?
My top priority is to be and stay healthy. Chasing my dreams is what really keeps me going. I want to have a big family and a nice house in Spain to spend the summers there.

Define happiness. What makes you laugh and what makes you happy?
Happiness keeps me going. I’m always searching for what makes me happy. Next to myself there’s my friendship with my two best friends. They make me happy and make me laugh. To keep doing fun things with them and to find new places and meet new people around the world is one of the most important things for me.

How do you see Life through your eyes?
Be happy every day because you never know when it’s going to be over. Enjoy every day and make the best of it. Be kind to other people and let everybody be him/herself.

What is worth fighting for the efforts and the time?
Everything you do and you love is worth fighting for; otherwise you might as well do nothing.

3 songs from your playlist?
Mattafix – Living dafur
Mishka – Lonely
77 Bombay Street – Low on air

If you could give a name of this moment of your life, how would this chapter be called?
Landing in Amsterdam. After 1,5 years I have found the right places and the right people. It took a while but I have landed!

How do you imagine the future and what does it hold for you?
I’d like to see more of the world and when I have learned enough I would like to start a business for myself. I’d also want to have a big family and I’d like to meet the love of my life. I’d like to have a nice house and a boat. For now: I am just enjoying life and I will make it the best ride ever. Live your life now, tomorrow is an other day.

If you could tell something to the whole world what it would be?
It’s better to travel just one mile than read a thousand books.
