Thank you for sharing the magic, Joyce! You are adorable and we already  L <3 ve you!

1. Describe yourself with a few words:
Perfectionist, diverse, happy, party animal and design lover.

2. What are your hobbies and biggest passions?
My hobby and biggest passion is Interior Design. Since a couple of years I’m studying Interior Design and I can’t get enough of it. In my spare time I love to visit events that are related to that. Another thing I really like to do is shopping and going out with friends.

3. When and how have you started your modelling career? Were you scouted by somebody?
My modelling career started two years ago when I was 16 years old. I participated in a scouting event called ‘The Model Convention’. This is an initiative of Mariana Verkerk and Mauritz Briët.
After I walked the runway and showed my pictures, I got 17 callbacks from different agencies. That was by the way a big surprise for me because I had no expectations! When the event was over I had to chat really quick with all the agencies (because there wasn’t that much time) and eventually I chose for Michamodels!  The funny part was that I almost forgot to go to Micha because I was way over the time limit. Luckily Micha came to me to say Hi (:

4. Did modelling influence or change your life? If yes, how?
Yes it did! The main thing that I experienced was that it changes the way you think. For example: being alone in cities like London made me more mature because I had to take care of myself and had real responsibilities.
What also changed is that I’m much more aware of what I’m eating now. I eat healthier and better food right now than I did before modelling. (And I’m really happy with that because I have a better skin, body and mind now).

5. Have you dreamed to be a model?
When I was younger I didn’t really dream about becoming a model because it wasn’t that trending among my friends. The thought about becoming a model came when I was around 16 years old because people started to tell me I should start modelling.

6. One thing that you love most about modelling?
I think that would be the shoots. I just love working with creative photographers, stylists and hair and make-up artists because you can learn a lot from them. And I also love the fact that you have a permanent result afterwards. And besides that the travelling of course!!

7. What is fashion for you? How would you describe your own style?
Fashion for me is important because in my opinion you are what you wear. I like the feeling that fashion/clothing can give you when you just bought something new.
I would describe my style as urban chic. I really like pure and modern clothing with an eye catcher or something different. I always try not to dress according to the latest trends because if I did that it wouldn’t really be me anymore. (But of course you can’t always avoid that)
When you would have private access to my closet you would see lots of skirts, dresses and black and white clothing. I’m also a big fan of high heels.

8. What is your musthave for the season?
My ultimate musthave for this season would probably be black high heel boots!

9. Fashion/beauty icon that you admire?
My beauty icons would be Dutch model Saskia de Brauw and Brigitte Bardot, because they have such a unique look! Saskia is around age of 33 now and she is still working as a model!
I don’t really have a fashion icon but I am in LOVE with almost everything of Valentino!!

10. A fact about you that we don’t know?
That would be that I act like a lady and think like a man. I behave as a woman but my mind set is more like a man because I really don’t like too much drama. Also people think I’m really decent, but if you get to know me better it will surprise you how I really am ha-ha.

11. What makes you laugh and what makes you happy?
Actually a lot of things but first of all, my best friends. They are the funniest people you will meet and I totally can be myself around them! We go to a lot of concerts and do city trips together and that really makes me happy. And besides them I get really happy of travel adventures. I think it’s the best feeling when I go off road with my camera and come back with the most beautiful pictures. And I like seeing other cultures and learn from them.
And last but not least I really enjoy having a drink in an unique or unknown bar/café. Or when people are taking me to their favourite places that I don’t know yet.

12. Where do you get your inspiration from?
Mostly from things that happened or things I saw in the past. Like events or countries I went to. I also get a lot of inspiration from the people around me.

13. How do you see Life through your eyes?
You only got one life and enjoy it to the fullest! I always try to stick to this quote, even when things are getting difficult. People should say more ‘yes’ to things they want to do but don’t have the courage for it. Because it will make your life much more fun!

14. The things that are worth fighting for are?
What else can I answer then: Your beloved ones, life goals and freedom!!

15. How do you imagine the future, what does it hold for you?
I don’t know because there is so much that can happen! But I will life in a modern house in a big city for sure! Because I really like the city vibe and it is nice to have everything nearby (work, stores, friends and stuff like that). But even when I life in a big city I will travel a lot to all kinds of other countries. And I hope to be a successful woman in modelling or in the interior design world.

16. If you could tell something to the whole world what it would be?
Treat other people like you would like to be treated! We aren’t here to make each other lives harder, are we? 😉
